Before publishing the new guidelines, which will come into force in early 2022, the European Commission has opened for comments a draft revision. In its draft, the Commission proposes in particular to extend the guidelines to climate issues. Therefore, the revised guidelines will be referred to as Climate, Energy and Environmental State aid guidelines (CEEAG).
UFE replied to this consultation and focused its remarks on the following issues :
Aid for the reduction and removal of GHG emissions including through support for renewable energy ;
Aid for the security of electricity supply ;
Aid for energy infrastructure ;
Aid for the improvement of the energy and environmental performance of buildings.
